The head of the bay with the shallow waters. The soldiers used to cross through this point on their way from the Sarpi rest camp to the hospitals in Punta. It is the location shown in the photographs by AW Savage and Florence McMillan.
The site of the 3rd Canadian Stationary Hospital where Canadian doctors and nurses worked and who are commemorated on a plaque at the Portianou Commonwealth Military Cemetery.
The site of the quarantine hospital where the officers and soldiers who were possibly infected with contagious diseases remained for some time (Infectious Hospital).
The Turks head area with the water tanks for the water supply of the hospitals. This is the central point of the peninsula where the administrative services of the hospitals were established. There were also water tanks, with the water coming from the desalination plant at the Water Pier.
